{"id":282,"date":"2018-07-27T22:44:47","date_gmt":"2018-07-27T12:44:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hawthornegarage.socialtap.com.au\/?p=282"},"modified":"2018-07-30T16:26:54","modified_gmt":"2018-07-30T06:26:54","slug":"pulled-pork-mango-sliders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hawthornegarage.com.au\/pulled-pork-mango-sliders\/","title":{"rendered":"Pulled Pork &#038; Mango Sliders"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Ingredients<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>600g pork shoulder<\/li>\n<li>3 cloves garlic &#8211; finely chopped<\/li>\n<li>1 brown onion &#8211; sliced<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 cup rice bran oil<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsps. corn flour<\/li>\n<li>1 cup balsamic vinegar<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup light soy sauce<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsps. kicap manis<\/li>\n<li>1 cup chicken stock<\/li>\n<li>1 cup apple juice<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 cup sugar<\/li>\n<li>Salt &amp; pepper<\/li>\n<li>1 lime &#8211; juiced<\/li>\n<li>1 mango &#8211; peeled &amp; sliced<\/li>\n<li>12 small dinner rolls or Brioche<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Method<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Pre-heat 170\u00b0C.<\/li>\n<li>Cut pork along grains, vertically into 5cm thick strips. Rub some oil, corn flour, salt &amp; pepper all over pork.<\/li>\n<li>In a heavy-based casserole dish with a lid, heat some oil over a medium heat. Sear pork until browned on all sides. Add onion &amp; fry for 2 minutes. Add garlic &amp; fry for a further minute. Set pork aside, leaving onion and garlic in the pot.<\/li>\n<li>Add balsamic vinegar, soy, kicap manis, stock, apple juice &amp; sugar. Bring to a gentle boil.<\/li>\n<li>Return pork to sauce. Cover with lid &amp; transfer pot to oven. Cook for 2 hours, turning once or twice.<\/li>\n<li>Remove pork gently from pot. Place in a large bowl &amp; cover with cling film. Keep pork in\u00a0the fridge until ready to pull.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Return pot to the stove &amp; bring sauce to a gentle boil. Let sauce reduce until it becomes a thick glaze(approx. 8-10 minutes).<\/li>\n<li>Test by coating a wooden spoon with sauce &amp; running your finger through the middle of it. If a clear path is let on the spoon, it is ready. Finish sauce with lime juice.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Mango Slaw w Sriracha Mayonnaise<\/h2>\n<h3>Ingredients<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/2 cup of mayonnaise<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsps. Sriracha or hot chilli sauce<\/li>\n<li>1 lime &#8211; juiced<\/li>\n<li>1 semi ripe mango &#8211; thinly julienne<\/li>\n<li>2 cups finely sliced red cabbage<\/li>\n<li>1 small carrot &#8211; finely sliced<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup coriander &#8211; chopped<\/li>\n<li>Pinch of sea salt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Method<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Mix mayonnaise with Sriracha, lime juice &amp; sea salt. Stir well to combine.<\/li>\n<li>Set aside 1\/4 cup of mayo as spread for bread rolls.<\/li>\n<li>In a large bowl,\u00a0mix sliced mango, cabbage, carrots, coriander &amp; Sriracha mayo.
