{"id":285,"date":"2018-07-27T22:58:35","date_gmt":"2018-07-27T12:58:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hawthornegarage.socialtap.com.au\/?p=285"},"modified":"2018-07-30T16:26:53","modified_gmt":"2018-07-30T06:26:53","slug":"vietnamese-rice-paper-rolls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hawthornegarage.com.au\/vietnamese-rice-paper-rolls\/","title":{"rendered":"Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Ingredients<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>80 g dried vermicelli noodles cooked as packet instructions or until soft and white<\/li>\n<li>20 sheets of 22cm rice paper Yun\u2019s Rice Paper available at Hawthorne Garage on the Asian shelves<\/li>\n<li>250 g shredded cooked chicken sold by weight at Hawthorne Garage Deli<\/li>\n<li>1 Lebanese cucumber cut in half then into 1cm strips<\/li>\n<li>2 carrot-finely shredded<\/li>\n<li>Nam Cham sauce &#8211; (refer to recipe)<\/li>\n<li>Iceberg lettuce cut 2cm strip length ways<\/li>\n<li>1 bunch Vietnamese mint<\/li>\n<li>Bowl of warm water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Should be warm to hot but not scalding temperature<\/p>\n<h3>Method<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Soak shredded carrot in Nam Cham sauce for 5 minutes. Drain and set aside. Save the sauce for dipping.<\/li>\n<li>To assemble the rolls, fill a large bowl with warm water and dip 1 whole sheet of rice paper in the water until it softens and then lay flat on a plate.<\/li>\n<li>In the middle of the rice paper, place horizontally 3 to 4 mint leaves, a small amount of carrot, 1 piece cucumber, shredded chicken, softened vermicelli and top with a piece of lettuce.<\/li>\n<li>To form the roll, first fold the sides into the centre over the filling, then the bottom of the rice paper up and over.
