{"id":286,"date":"2018-07-27T22:56:40","date_gmt":"2018-07-27T12:56:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hawthornegarage.socialtap.com.au\/?p=286"},"modified":"2018-09-12T15:42:13","modified_gmt":"2018-09-12T05:42:13","slug":"stir-fry-ginger-beef-and-bok-choy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hawthornegarage.com.au\/stir-fry-ginger-beef-and-bok-choy\/","title":{"rendered":"Stir-Fry Ginger Beef And Bok Choy"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Ingredients<\/h3>\n<p>Serves 4<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>400g beef fillet or rump<\/li>\n<li>1 bunch Bok Choy<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoons corn flour<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 cup canola oil<\/li>\n<li>4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd inch ginger<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoons sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoons oyster sauce<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons light soy sauce<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc cup water<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons Chinese rice wine or Sherry (optional)<\/li>\n<li>Salt<\/li>\n<li>White pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Method<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Slice beef thinly into 3cm long pieces. Marinate with corn flour, pinch of white pepper, soy sauce and \u00bd tablespoon sugar. Mix well.<\/li>\n<li>Peel ginger and slice into thin strips. Wash Bok Choy and drain well. Cut each stem into 2 to 3 pieces.<\/li>\n<li>Heat wok until smokey. Pour in half the oil. Wait till wok becomes smoky again then gently add beef and stir a few times to separate. Do not over stir. Beef should be medium rare. Drain oil. Set beef aside.<\/li>\n<li>Wash Wok.<\/li>\n<li>Heat wok again until smoky. Pour in remaining oil. Wait till oil becomes smoky hot; add ginger, garlic and a pinch of salt. Add Bok Choy and stir continuously. Pour in the water, bit by bit. Stir fry for further 1 to 2 minutes. Add the par cooked beef, oyster sauce and the remaining sugar. Stir for a couple minutes. Finish with the rice wine or sherry.
