The weather is finally cooling down. We all need something warm and sweet to celebrate Easter. This golden caramelised custard like pudding is a real homespun dessert that\u2019ll make everyone HOPPY this Easter. <\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\n\n\t

Ingredients: <\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • 6 fruit hot cross buns-cut into 2.5cm square pieces<\/li>\n
  • 60g melted unsalted butter<\/li>\n
  • 4 eggs<\/li>\n
  • 2 cups full cream milk<\/li>\n
  • 1\/2 cup sugar<\/li>\n
  • Punch of ground cinnamon<\/li>\n
  • Pinch of ground nutmeg<\/li>\n
  • Pinch of sea salt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Topping Sauce<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • 60g unsalted butter<\/li>\n
    • 1 cup full cream milk<\/li>\n
    • 1 tbsp cornstarch<\/li>\n
    • 1\/3 cup golden syrup<\/li>\n
    • 2 firm bananas-cut into 2cm rounds<\/li>\n
    • 1\/2 cup dark chocolate chips<\/li>\n
    • Mix berries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\n\n\t

      Method<\/h4>\n
        \n
      1. Pre heat oven to 180\u00b0C.<\/li>\n
      2. Place hot cross bun cubes in a greased heavy based casserole pot. Pour in melted butter and toss gently to coat.<\/li>\n
      3. In a medium bowl, lightly beat eggs; add milk, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.<\/li>\n
      4. Pour over bun cubes and mix gently to coat. Bake uncovered for 40 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.<\/li>\n
      5. To make the sauce, melt butter in a small saucepan. Mix together milk, corn starch and golden syrup until combined. cook over medium heat until the mixture comes to a boil. Stir and cook for 1 minute.<\/li>\n
      6. Remove from the heat. Pour over cooked pudding and top with banana rounds and choc chips.<\/li>\n
      7. Return to oven and cook for further 10 minutes.<\/li>\n
      8. Serve warm with fresh berries and a dusting of icing sugar.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
